Glyphosate adsorption onto porous clay heterostructure (PCH): kinetic and thermodynamic studies

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract The synthesis of PCH from natural bentonite produces a porous heterostructure material effective for the adsorption glyphosate water. process takes place through an interaction between silanol group montmorillonite and/or adsorbent with functional groups glyphosate. isotherms, recorded all studied samples, have been established to be Langmuir type. kinetic herbicide on was best described by pseudo-second-order model. With increase in temperature 25 50 °C, sorption capacities materials towards increased. found endothermic and spontaneous nature, as indicated positive values ΔH negative ΔG. According results obtained, more basic environment. maximum amount adsorbed is almost doubled 13.5 mg/g clay 27.5 PCH. Graphic abstract

Thermodynamic and Kinetic Studies: Adsorption of Fe (III) onto Corncob

Heavy metals released into the surface and ground water has been a major preoccupation for many years because of their increased discharge, acute toxicity, non-biodegradable nature and tendency for bioaccumulation [1-3]. Iron a common contaminant enters the water bodies through effluents of industries such as electroplating, mining, steel processing etc. The presence of Fe (II) in water results...

Equilibrium and Thermodynamic Studies of Cesium Adsorption on Bentonite Clay

Removal of cesium from synthetic aqueous solution through adsorption on bentonite, under batch equilibrium experimental condition at different values of pH and four temperatures (303, 313, 323, 333 K) was investigated. For this propose the suitability of the Freundlich adsorption model for equilibrium data were investigated. The parameters in the adopted adsorption isotherm models were determin...

Removal of phenol from aqueous solution by adsorption onto seashells: equilibrium, kinetic and thermodynamic studies

The efficacy of seashells as a new adsorbent for removal of phenol from aqueous solutions was studied by performing batch equilibrium tests under different operating parameters such as solution pH, adsorbent dose, initial phenol concentration, and temperature. The phenol removal efficiency remained unaffected when the initial pH of the phenol solution was in the range of 3–8. The amount of phen...

Adsorption Properties of Doxorubicin Hydrochloride onto Graphene Oxide: Equilibrium, Kinetic and Thermodynamic Studies

Doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) is an effective anticancer agent for leukemia chemotherapy, although its clinical use has been limited because of its side effects such as cardiotoxicity, alopecia, vomiting, and leucopenia. Attention has been focussed on developing new drug carriers with high adsorption capacity and rapid adsorption rate in order to minimize the side effects of DOX. Graphene oxi...

Adsorption Properties of Tetracycline onto Graphene Oxide: Equilibrium, Kinetic and Thermodynamic Studies

Graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticle is a high potential effective absorbent. Tetracycline (TC) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic produced, indicated for use against many bacterial infections. In the present research, a systematic study of the adsorption and release process of tetracycline on GO was performed by varying pH, sorption time and temperature. The results of our studies showed that tetracyc...
